The Climate Crisis Resilience Fee is a newly announced environmental fee, introduced by the Greek Government following Article 30 of Law 5073/2023, replacing the previous Accommodation Tax as of January 1, 2024. It is mandated for all hotels in Greece and is charged per room, per night, with the purpose of mobilizing financial resources to support environmental initiatives and foster resilience against climate change impacts in Greece’s hospitality sector.
Key details about the Climate Crisis Resilience Fee include:
Purpose: The fee is intended as a purposeful contribution to support environmental initiatives and enhance resilience against climate change.
Affected Parties: All guests staying at hotels in Greece, including patrons at establishments like the Neptune Luxury Resort, are required to contribute to this fee.
Collection Amount: The specific amount of the fee varies based on the hotel’s category (e.g., 5-star, 4-star) and the period of stay. In the case of Neptune Luxury Resort, the designated fee is 10.00 Euros per night from March through October and 4.00 Euros per night from November through February.
Collection Process: The Climate Crisis Resilience Fee is collected during the check-in process at Neptune Luxury Resort, ensuring a seamless experience for guests. The collected fees are remitted directly to the tax authorities.
